Robert Weiner is an independent technology consultant based in San Francisco.  He specializes
in helping non-profit and educational organizations make informed choices about the selection,
use, and management of information technology.  His clients have included UC Berkeley, the
National Philanthropic Trust/Breast Cancer 3-Day Walks, the California State University
Foundation, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Earthjustice, Florida State
University, SFJAZZ, Santa Clara University, the Trust for Public Land, Sonoma State University,
San Jose State University, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, United States Artists, Pomona
College, EMILY’s List, the University of Montana Foundation, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation,
the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles
County, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the San Francisco Bay Area and Greater Los Angeles
chapters of the American Red Cross, the San Francisco Ballet, and Reed College.  

Mr. Weiner is the host of TechSoup’s Technology for Fundraising online forum, and has
presented workshops for organizations including Academic Impressions, the Association of
Fundraising Professionals (AFP, formerly NSFRE), the Association of Professional Researchers for
Advancement (APRA), the Business Arts Council, the California Advancement Researchers
Association, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the Center for
Community Benefit Organizations, the Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership of Marin,
City College of San Francisco, CompassPoint Nonprofit Services, the Craigslist Foundation, the
Foundation Center, Grassroots Fundraising Journal, Idealware, the Nonprofit Technology
Enterprise Network (NTEN), and the University of San Francisco’s College of Professional
Studies. Mr. Weiner served on the editorial board of E-Philanthropy Review, and has been
published in AFP’s eWire, Idealware, Grassroots Fundraising Journal, The Nonprofit Quarterly,
CASE Currents, the CASE Handbook of Institutional Advancement, TechSoup, NTEN Forecast, E-
Philanthropy Review, and contributed to the new book, Advancement Services, Behind the
Advancement Scene. He is currently serving on the planning committee for NTEN’s 2009
Nonprofit Technology Conference, and AFP’s 2009 San Francisco Fundraising Day.
